Daughter missing in Peru
After working patiently with the local authorities, Interpol and the Peruvian authorities they still don't have any more answers than they did 6 weeks ago.
As their concern grows over the unusual circumstances of her disappearance, her parents have flown down to Peru in an effort to try and get answers to what may have happened, while her four siblings, two sisters and two brothers, remain in Canada working with the local authorities.
Up to 5 people go missing a day in Lima and it has been implied that bribes and rewards are the surest way to start getting answers in Peru.
For that reason we have started a Go Fund Me campaign.
Our goal of this gofundme is to raise $25,000 for her parents to be offered as a reward for the information leading to Kim's whereabouts and what may have transpired the night of November 26, 2016 when we lost contact with her.
Kim is a loving mother, daughter and sister and was very active in social media. It is uncharacteristic of her to be out of contact with her family and friends for more then a few days let alone weeks. Please share her story and with hope this can have a positive outcome.
I am Kim's youngest brother living in the Fraser Valley of British Columbia and on behalf of the family, I thank you in advance for your support, well wishes, sharing her story, spreading the word and bringing what we hope is timely and happy resolution.

Kim’s Family and Friends
While Christopher is a fugitive, his lawyers have filed a constitutional challenge that he should not have to go to jail, we are awaiting the outcome. Once Christopher is either captured or turns himself in, the oral trial will begin shortly after.
We wanted to thank everyone for all the support we have received over the last two years, a special thank you to those who took up Kym's cause in the Lima Women's March last month, bringing a voice to her and all the other women who deserve justice and equality.
It has been a long road, with what at times seem to be an insurmountable number of obstacles in the way, but our will is strong. We have seen the corruption in the legal system come to light over the last two years and a spark has started in Peru, with Prosecutors and Judges being investigated and imprisoned for corruption, the media keeping the disparity of conviction rates for Femicide front and center and the voices of #NiUnaMeno (Not One Less) and #NosEstasSola (You are not alone) holding their marches and gaining local and international support, they are keeping the pressure and light on the judicial system to see that money and influence do not protect individuals from murder in Peru any longer and it will no longer be cheaper to buy off a judge then to get justice.
We end this with hope that Christopher will be brought into custody shortly, from there the oral trial can begin and our daughter/sister/mother and friend Kimberlee Kasatkin will have her day in court.
With Love, The Kasatkin Family
In follow up to the last news release from Peru, unfortunately it has come back to us that it was not Kym's body that was discovered in Chilca.
While we are saddened this isn't the news we were hoping for, we are happy that another family has some closure and we are optimistic and hopeful that we will soon too.
Thank you all again for your continued support. Al and Kathy are currently in Peru again to follow up on things, we will post again as soon as we learn more.
Chilca: They find bone remains in an open field
Police and specialists of the Public Prosecutor suspect that remains found correspond to the Canadian citizen Kimberlee Susanne Kasatkin, who disappeared in November 2016.
Macabre find. A clearing of the human settlement January 15 in Chilca became the scene where they found a skull and skeletal remains, which, according to suspicions of the Police and specialists of the Public Ministry, would correspond to the Canadian citizen Kimberlee Susanne Kasatkin (41) , disappeared on November 27, 2016.
According to América TV, to determine who the remains belong to, more specialized tests will be made of the remains, which were wrapped in a worn fabric and buried in the sand.
THE SUSPICIOUS PRINCIPAL
Christopher Franz Bettocchi , doctor by profession and husband of the foreigner, is the main suspect in the death of the Canadian, and is currently in jail after the court ruled, against him, 9 months of preventive detention.
Among the evidence against the doctor, are the security cameras of the Miraflores building, where the man is seen removing a heavy suitcase by the garage, a day after the disappearance of his partner. In addition, luminol tests determined blood spots in that same place.
Even the same video disrupted the subject's version. He affirmed that his wife had left him, but in the images one can see the foreigner enter but never leave even by the garage.
Another point is that Christopher Franz Bettocchi gave away the mattress he shared with his wife to an employee of his mother. After the tests, the experts found traces of the woman's blood.
Meanwhile, the victim's family claimed that she was a victim at the hands of her husband, whom they accused of physically mistreating her. In addition, they indicated that she had decided to return to her homeland with her younger children.
ON NOVEMBER 27
Christopher Franz Bettochi and Kimberlee Susanne Kasatkin met when he traveled to Canada to continue his medical studies. They got married, lived for a time in Africa and then decided to settle in Peru with their two youngest children.
The alleged happiness ended on November 27, when the man went to report his wife for abandonment of home. During his version, he assured that he had not returned home that day; however, the building video proved it was a lie. This one not only had returned, but the afternoon of that day, was dedicated to drag that enormous bulk.
Were the remains of his wife? While he is in preventive detention, the police investigate the facts to find out the truth.
