Emergency Disaster Fund by WorkBox

$25,000 goal

This photo shows the house I stayed in Fiji after the devastation of Tropical Cylone Winston on February 22nd 2016.  TC Winston destroyed several communities leaving the locals with no home, access to clean water, and food for a few days.

At this time, I was working for a non-profit organization that did not specialize on disaster relief rather on delivering community and education projects. We can only do as much as we can, and prioritized the importance of providing Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WaSH) in the communities. We ensured that the communities have access to clean water, proper defacating areas, and the practice of washing their hands. The reason being is because there are past events wherein there are disease outbreaks after certain calamities, such as typhoid.

This whole experience was an eye opening of what I really wanted to do next...

AND so, I decided to create my own business in April 2017 with the purpose on giving back.

My company, called WorkBox, plans to set some of the profits to a fund that would concentrate on:

1.) Disaster relief programs to help communities affected by natural calamaties, immigration due to climate change, and community-based projects addressing environmental sustainability.

2.) Education fund to support scholarships programs for the youth in the Philippines.

3.) Addressing importance of Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WaSH) in impoverished communites in Southeast Asia and the South Pacific.

My company is quite small to fund these causes. This is why I am setting up this page for individuals who believes in the cause. I will ensure that the funds will be distributed the right way, and will provide updates/reports to donours whenever funds are released.

Thank you for your donations and it will go a long way!
