GRANEA is a community youth group located in Haiti that emphasizes Haitian culture. These many talented children debate, produce theater and dance performances for foreign visitors, conduct community service projects, and have fun. This summer Williamson Jacques, fondly called Yaya, and his team of young adult leaders want to operate Camp GRANEA for a second year. During the month of July, children in Gwo Jan will experience a variety of summer camp activities. With your support, Camp GRANEA can offer daily fun and educational opportunities for over thirty children!
Last year Camp GRANEA hosted its first summer camp with grand success. This community of young people learned how to make macrame sandals, created flower pots out of recycled material, performed for American visitors, and even spent a day at the beach. This year Camp GRANEA would like to emphasize community service and will invest in tools, such as machetes, shovels, and wheelbarrows. Your help is needed to raise $2,500 by June 1, 2019. Please consider supporting Camp GRANEA as a gesture of compassion. The children of Gwo Jan and Yaya will be deeply grateful for your generosity and gift of education!
