Cancer Support for Paul Martin

Hello and thank you! Thank you for being part of the loving community committed to supporting and upholding Paul and Sarah in this difficult time.

Paul’s journey with cancer began in January 2021 when a hockey injury revealed a tumour on his back. Months of extensive tests and scans confirmed a diagnosis of multiple myeloma, a blood cancer rarely found in men Paul’s age. His treatment, which is already underway, consists of 4 cycles of heavy dose chemotherapy followed by at least one autologous stem cell transplant. Then it will be on to “maintenance” therapy.

Our hope is that Paul’s body will respond fully to treatment and will soon be in remission. Even in the best case scenario though, we expect him to be unable to work for upwards of a year. As a result, and as Sarah cares for him, their only means of income will be a disability benefit. While grateful, they know this coverage will leave many of their monthly expenses unpaid, not to mention bills related to travel for treatment. Though the exact amount needed is difficult to assess, we’ve set a fundraising goal of $50,000. How incredible would it be to bless these two in such a way that they can focus fully on Paul’s healing and recovery, free of financial worry?!

Although Paul’s diagnosis has come as a total shock, we are hopeful. We trust that God is with us and we praise Him for Paul and Sarah’s steadfast faith. Please pray with us for the continued grace to stand firm on God’s promises, and please consider partnering with us financially to help shoulder the burden of this most difficult season.

From our family to yours: we can’t thank you enough for your love and support. God bless you!
