40214786_1561545179995461_r.jpegHello, I'm Tommy, a high school student and I will be attempting to climb Kilimanjaro through a 7-day trek this August.

Kilimanjaro is known as one of the seven highest mountains in the world and the world's tallest free-standing mountain at 5,895m/19,300ft. I will be trekking up using the Machame route, covering a distance of over 60 km.

Having completed a trek to Machu Picchu two years ago, I want to further use this opportunity to help the local people of Tanzania and Africa. Right now, 663 million people don't have access to clean water. That's 1 in 10 of us.

After carefully going through the various organizations in Africa, I picked Charity: Water both for their cause and transparency. They prove every project they build using photos and GPS coordinates on Google Maps, and they work with strong local implementing partners to build and maintain projects. For just $30 you are able to provide 1 person with clean water, forever.

Here's a link to their website: https://my.charitywater.org

This trip is personally funded and all donations will go directly to charity: water. Thanks so much for your time and I hope that you will be able to make a donation!
