Everyone who knows Johnny Cesario knows what a wonderful man, husband, father and friend he is.
Johnny grew up in Ottawa and went to St. Raymond’s High School. Following school he decided to join his cousins and became a hair stylist and worked at Vivante. His dream was always to work for himself and last year his dream became a reality and took over the family barbershop from his father-in-law Ike Smith. Johnny’s wife Andrea nee Smith is born and raised in Carleton Place, brother Dan Smith, parents Ike and Dorothy Smith will be a strong support system, along with Johnny’s sisters Gisela Cesario and Marissa Tedesco.
Johnny is a caring, generous, loving, incredibly hardworking man who has been dealt one of the worst diagnosis one can get…Stage 4 Lung Cancer. His oncologist has recommended a rigourous treatment schedule to begin immediately.
As a result of this grim diagnosis, Johnny will be taking a break from his business in Carleton Place, The Barber Shop, which many of you frequent. Unable to work, and owner of the building, his health situation will put tremendous financial stress on his family, as well as the mortgage for the family home. Andrea, his loving wife 22 years is a wonderful, caring nurse at the local hospital and she will be unable to work to care for Johnny. Their two teenage children, Phoebe and Charlie, will be home to help for the fight of his life. As many self-employed people, Johnny does not have any health insurance. While Johnny has a strong support system in place, the burden of finances is inevitable which is why we are asking anyone who can help, to help.
The donations from the fundraiser will be put towards any medical costs incurred as well as helping cover the costs of everyday living. The treatment will $15,000 a month. Any amount donated is greatly appreciated by Johnny and his family.
As Johnny’s new reality is slowing setting in now more than ever he needs your love, prayers and support.
