Support Mechak's dream&Help his spirit stand again

On March 1, 2015, Mechack and his teammates (Kigali Basket Club) were on a bus heading to the Southern Province of Rwanda to play against their rival team at the University of Rwanda. Like fate would have it, their bus did not make it to their destination. It collided with a forthcoming truck. Mechack lost many close friends and teammates in that accident.  It is also this accident that changed Mechack’s life significantly. Even though he survived but the accident left him with an almost chronic paraplegic (an impairment in motor or sensory function of the lower extremities). In addition, Mechack emerged with a damaged spinal cord which underwent a total rupture. Mechak’s life does not begin in a wheelchair, nor will it end there. None of the above would hold him down.

Mechack continues to be an exemplary role model who values education and camaraderie with his teammates.  Even after the accident and a long period of suffering, he has not abandoned his true passion since he remains a wheelchair basketball player. Mechack is also a CERTIFIED BARBER.

Recently Mechack made a point that You Can Live Again! He saved up some little money and obtained small support from his friends to start a small barbershop. But his Barber shop is unequipped. There is so much lacking for him to enter a competitive industry where customers would choose him over other barber shops. His goal is to provide the best service in Kigali. Helping him is being part of his journey.

We are looking to raise at least $10 000 for his business to be fully operational as he still lacks multiple essentials for his dream to take off. You can also support him directly via his MTN Mobile Money @ +250784841728

Give what you have! Even $1 would make a difference. There is a Rwanda Proverb that says, “Imana Ifasha Uwifashishe” which roughly translates “God helps those who help themselves.” Mechack has changed and inspired us all with his courage and spirit to never give up, it time you and I do the same for him and his family.
