Please help us support Carrie during her long road to recovery after being hit hard by COVID-19.
Carrie starting feeling unwell on January 22nd and was diagnosed with COVID two days later. She did her best to rest and recover at home under the support and direction of the 811 Hotline, but by January 29th, she knew that she would not be able to fight this alone. The next day she was moved to Langley Memorial Hospital and then a few days later transported via ambulance to Abbotsford ICU. During her time in the ICU, Carrie fought this vicious virus, sharing her journey along the way via social media to educate others.
On Feb 9, Carrie and her ICU roommate and new-found friend, Anne, were able to move out of ICU and begin the first steps of recovery that will get them closer to going home.
The journey is far from over and there is still so much to work through.
As a sole proprietor of a small business, Carrie will likely not be able to get back to work for a while. Along with regular expenses, she will need support with nourishment and physio several days a week.
We have set up Meal Train for those who would like to arrange meal drop off and you can find those details here.
For those who would like to contribute financially, we have set up this GoFundMe page. Any contribution, large or small, is greatly appreciated.
Those who are lucky enough to know Carrie know that she is an incredibly generous, kind, and thoughtful person. In fact, in the days leading up to her illness, she raised $500 dollars to help a stranger's sick dog. Carrie would do anything for anybody, and now it's our turn to take care of Carrie!
Any amount is greatly appreciated and will ease the financial burden of Carrie's recovery.
