This studio arose out of my sister's journey, spurred by a very serious illness that forced her to contemplate death. She was then given an new lease on life and the opportunity to live a more conscious life. All to say that after Jordana was given this second chance at life, she was called to fulfill a life's purpose of bringing the same happiness, healing and spiritual awakening she learned through the recovering, to others.
And it was as if it was all meant to be. Jordana’s 12 years experience as a Personal Trainer, 5 years as an Interior Decorator, and passion for yoga gave her the skills to create this amazing space that she called TRIBEspace. Built on the philosophy of reuniting a tribe of like minded, awakened, socially conscious people, who were looking for a space to practice their yoga, bring depth to their spirituality, and commune with their neighbours – this space does all of that, and so much more. It has been decorated with influences from Bali, Central and South America, India and Africa. Upon walking through the doors there is a noticeable difference from the outside world. The energy of the space is carefully curated to transport the mind and soul back to it’s place of origin, and reconnect you with your higher self.
It was all meant to be…except for Covid-19.
TRIBEspace was near completion, and set to open March 30th, when on March 15th disastrous news came that all non-essential businesses must shut down. Shut down before they had even had a chance to open. Jordana's life savings had been invested in creating a space so beautiful with the anticipation of being able to open the doors immediately.
Now heading into the 5th month of closure and having been paying rent for 6 months without income, my sister has tapped out her personal finances in order to keep the studio alive. Because she had not yet opened, she does not qualify for any government loans.
The response by every single person who enters the studio is one of awe – TRIBEspace, once open will be (I think) the most unique yoga studio in Toronto. I know that Jordana did not want to ask for help, but on her behalf, and for the sake of ensuring that everyone gets the opportunity to experience this wonderful sanctuary, I am asking for your help. Lets make sure that TRIBEspace does make it through the quarantine, and is able to open it’s doors.
If you can donate any amount to help Jordana to keep paying her rent and bills, that would massively appreciated. And, instead of asking for a straight donation, for every $110 donation that would be remunerated for a 1 month unlimited membership – regular price $200.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and lets come together as a Tribe and keep TRIBEspace alive.
