On April 6 2021, the world lost one of its brightest minds and biggest hearts. Robert White, a beloved husband and father of two, lost his life to the North Saskatchewan River to save a distressed dog.
Rob was no stranger to kindness, and it comes to no suprise to his family or those that knew him he would commit such a selfless act of heroism to help those in need.
He changed the lives of many people. Anyone who ever met him would know that he was remarkable and truly one of a kind. He always put others before himself. He left an impression, forever, on anyone that knew him.
Robert left behind a legacy of creativity. He was an eclectic artist who specialized in elaborate paper mache sculptures. He was also a prolific writer, cartoonist and poet. A true polymath who possessed an unquestionable intellect.
Rob's character was unique, he was charismatic, compassionate, courageous, and most of all - loving.
It is often remarked that Rob gave guidance to many young people throughout their lives. They would gravitate to his kind and respectful demeanour. Rob always took the time to contemplate others before himself. His guidance and wisdom will be with many who sought it from him.
The White family wishes to express their gratitude to the many first responders that responded to the incident and searched for Robert. Fire, EMS, police, and volunteers jumped to action and did their best to save Rob.
As of April 14 Robert is still missing. Any updates will be provided.
