Springfield Sports Club vs NB CFO Legal Fund

The Board of Directors of the Springfield Sports Club Inc, wishes to
sincerely express our thanks to all the individuals, clubs and
organizations that generously supported our Springfield VS NBCFO Go
Fund Me campaign.

When we initially started this legal challenge, we thought we were
alone in this legal battle. However your contributions, combined with
the many comments of support has thrown those apprehensions out
the window, and told us how strong and together the recreational
shooting community is in Canada. “Way to go” to everyone!! It was a
big morale boost hug! So much appreciated!

Our campaign goal of $25,000 has been exceeded. The strong financial
support that has been received from across Canada has clearly shown
that there is a solid understanding of what this legal challenge could
mean, for all gun clubs in the future management of their ranges. With
that thought, as court proceedings move forward later in the year,
Springfield will provide updates to key persons and organizations as
well as at it’s website; Fredericton Recreational Shooting Association at
“frsa.ca”, to keep you posted.

From the Board of Directors of Springfield Sports Club Inc, to all of you
out there, again thank you for your tremendous support!

The Springfield Sports Club (SSC) seeks your financial support in a
critically important, ongoing legal challenge with the Province of New
Brunswick Chief Firearms Officer (NBCFO) over the approval and
operation of its Club shooting range in this Province.

A recent 27 April 2021 NB Provincial Court decision, tossed out all 26
operating conditions imposed on the SSC range approval application by
the NBCF0. In light of the authorities and responsibilities as per the
Firearms Act (FA) and Regulations, this court decision had determined
these conditions were, unreasonable, unwarranted and without the
legal authority of the NBCFO to direct as part of a range approval

The NBCFO is now appealing this decision. The outcome of this legal
battle will likely determine how shooting clubs across Canada will be
able to operate their shooting ranges for years to come; as per the FA,
and Regulations or at the whim’s and wishes of provincial firearms
officers. We must not let this continue to happen. Your contribution
supports this fight for the real and true legal rights as defined in the FA,
and Regulations for recreational shooting clubs to manage and operate
their ranges.

We greatly appreciate your financial support. Thanks.
