Support For Noon Academy - Pandemic Relief

Covid 19 has impacted both individuals and businesses detrimentally.
Noon Academy also been adversely effected with the loss of the ability to collect funds due to the closure of the masjid. In particular the emergency order in Ontario means that the Jummah Salahs are done virtually, resulting in no collections on Fridays.

Noon cannot keep up with all its operating expenses without community donations, there is just no other way.  With the center being closed due to COVID-19 and limited in capacity for most of 2020,  donations have for the most part disappeared; falling into unintended consequences of ‘out of sight out of mind’.
Here are some financial realities about Noon Academy we’d like you to be aware of:
·       Noon Academy has always been chronically underfunded, without the community support at this time, they are in danger of (permanently) closing the masjid portion of the center.
·       There are 3 key upcoming fundraising windows that have been impacted by the closure:
o   Lailatul Ihsan Annual Gala
o   Good Friday
o   Ramadan
·      With these events the center collects enough in donations to continue to operate and pay the rent. With the annual rent being 60k we are currently looking to raise half of that.

My name is Waleed Alsalahat from Brampton, Canada and I am the Imam of Noon Academy. The Noon masjid will not be able to operate unless we raise 30k between now and March. Funds raised will go towards the 6 months rent of the unit for Noon Academy

Noon Academy has served as a spiritual home for over 10 years and many families have benefitted from this community immensely.

Founded by Shaykh Waleed Almakee, Noon Academy is a masjid and a welcoming community center with educational services for adults, intensive youth courses, and weekly religious studies programs with children, all designed to educate and stimulate minds with ideas grounded in Islamic scholarly traditions.

Currently the courses are all being held virtually and we are striving to continue our social events and religious celebrations virtually as well to bring the community together.

We are asking you to support us by planning your donation to Noon amongst all the other financial planning you are doing at this time.  We have a large fundraising goal to raise virtually, please donate as much as you are able.
Our Future:
I want you to imagine coming out of this pandemic and there is no Noon Academy to take your family to.
No Jummah where Shaikh Waleed Almakee challenges us to look at the condition of our hearts.
No community events where your children can become more connected to their deen through lifelong friendships.
