Emergency Relief: Hawaii Sex Workers & Survivors

AF3IRM Hawaiʻi is organizing an Emergency Relief Fund for Sex Workers & Sex Trade Survivors.

Some of our sisters were forced into the trade as young as 14 years old and it took them just as many years or more to finally exit. While they are free from the life that has provided shelter and necessities but created lasting physical and psychological scars, many of them are considering re-entry into the life to contend with financial hardship caused by COVID-19.

Others who have never exited continue to work, despite fear of infection, because the bills don’t stop.

No one should have to return to unwanted sex with men to survive COVID-19. No one should have to risk infection or worse just to make ends meet. Sex industry survivors are among the most vulerable to COVID-19 infection and collateral violence associated with it. Please with urgent struggles for rent assistance, utilities, technology access, groceries, and basic needs.
