Well, the hits keep coming for our little family. 2021 has just not been our year. Sunday morning the phone started ringing very early. Which only gets your mind racing, what could possibly be wrong? Stef got up to check his message only to find out it was Hamilton General Hospital. Stef’s son lives in Hamilton, so needless to say the worry sets in. We come to find out Stef’s oldest boy, William “Will” Jones, was in a bicycle accident. Will and a friend were out biking, when they started to head down a very steep hill. Will ended up losing control. There was no way for him to stop, he went full speed over his handlebars. Unfortunately, Will was not wearing a helmet and his head hit the pavement at a very fast speed. He was lucky, he was not alone when this happened. His friend Anthony, called 911 immediately. So, he was able to get to the hospital extremely fast. Will was rushed into surgery almost immediately, early Sunday morning. They had to remove a portion of his skull to relieve the pressure in his brain. He has been in an induced coma since surgery. We are still not clear on how much damage was done to Will’s brain. Only time will tell, but the doctor told Stef he is going to have “significant deficiencies”. We are hoping once he becomes a little more stable that we will be able to have him moved to Kingston General Hospital. Regardless, he has a long road ahead of him, which we foresee being very expensive.
We were hoping to raise some money to help with his expenses. We need to pay his rent, and any utilities he may have. We are not currently aware of what credit card bills that are outstanding, if any. Either way, due to Covid we do not have the extra funds to cover all these expenses on our own and there is no way of knowing if/when he will ever be able to work again. We were hoping that we could get some help from our friends and family. We would appreciate any donation you feel you can afford; we know this past year has been a struggle for everyone.
Thank you in advance.
