$510 of $10,000 goal

Raised by 12 people in 9 months
The Canadian Army Vetrans Motorcycle unit "Dunkirk" located in the greater Moncton area is fundraising to help place 2 local Veterans suffering from PTSD with much needed Service Dogs. We managed to place these 2 veterans with a cost effective and recommended trainer based out of Nova Scotia. Partridge Canine Services This program will take at least 16 to 24 months to have dogs trained and paired with these 2 individuals. We are asking for your assistance to help us raise the $10,000 required for both dogs to help improve the quality of their lives. We are honoured to have Lisa as one of our guest speakers at our 5th Annual Helping the Helpers education and awareness day this year on October 27th, 2018 at the Schwartz Auditorium St. FX University along with Rocsie our Ambassador for the day.

Lisa has been training animals professionally for more than 30 years and has focused on the service dog field for the past 8 years. Developing expertise in training, behaviour modification and communication.
Along with training service dogs for clients living with PTSD, Lisa has worked with a number of groups to develop animal-assisted therapy programs, including a 2-year pilot project at the SeaStar Child and Youth Advocacy Centre at the IWK, Halifax, with her Therapy Dog, Rocsie.
The success of that pilot has resulted in the placement of a full time, accredited Facility Dog, PADS Dorado, at SeaStar one of only 30 in Canada and the very first in Atlantic Canada.
Lisa studied Animal Health Technology at the Nova Scotia Agricultural College, and Fairview College, Alberta and earned her certification as a Canine Behaviour Consultant with ImPAWSible Possible Inc., Alberta.
Lisa has thousands of hours of consulting and training experience with service and therapy dogs and has developed relationships with a number of Accredited Service Dog schools, continuing her professional development through mentorship.
