Recently one of the families at our dayhome was given a devastating cancer diagnosis. Chris Sargent and his wife Sofia Pastorino are parents to sweet Juliana, who will be two years old in December.

In mid-August, Chris went to his doctor as he thought he may have gallstones, and within 48 hours, was told he has metastatic stage VI cancer.  After meeting with his oncology team in early September, he was diagnosed with stage IV, incurable cholangiocarcinoma (known as bile duct cancer).

Sofia is pregnant with their second child has just begun a new job.  She is from Argentina and does not have her family here in Canada. Chris and Sofi are also aware that they may need to seek treatment options elsewhere and that  poses major financial challenges.

Please help us raise funds to support them in this terrible time, and to ease some of the financial burden this illness has imposed onto them. Their entire world has been turned upside down in an instant. Please contribute whatever you are able to make them feel supported  by the extended family that Rose and Benoit have created through the dayhome and by family, friends and colleagues elsewhere.

Thanks.
