As many of you may have heard, Scott Dymond has been battling cancer for the last 4 and ½ years.  After surgeries, chemo and radiation, the Drs, Scott, and his family made the decision to call hospice in on August 22nd.

In talking to Mary and Scott, they have planned as best they could for this day.  Many of you have asked how you can help Scott and his family.  He has done so much for you or your son, and you want to help them financially or in any way that you can.   They appreciate all the love, prayers, and support they have recieved from family, friends, and their extend FC Dallas Family.

Scott and Mary are proud people and do not want anyone to feel pressure to help, but agreed to allow us to set up a GoFundMe page to help support his 3 kids education.  Miranda is currently a Junior at North Texas, Allyson is a freshman at U of H, and John is a freshman in high school in Prosper.

As much as they have planned.  Fighting cancer is expensive even with the best insurance.  Raising 3 kids and helping pay for their education is difficult in the best of times.  All donations will be used to help support Miranda, Allyson and John pay for some of their education.  Thanks for any support you can give.

I personally wanted to thank everyone for donating to Scott Dymond's family. Mary and the kids are very appreciative of everyone who has donated money, prayed for them, and shared stories about Scott. I apologize for not thanking everyone and getting an update out sooner.

Overall Mary and the kids are doing well. It has not been easy, but each of them is finding their new normal.
Scott's and Mary's families have taken turns coming in town to show them with love and support which has been a big help to everyone.

Miranda is a junior in college, and will be starting an internship at Disney in a few weeks. This is obviously a huge deal for Miranda!! As most of you know the Dymond's love Disney, and internships at Disney are extremely difficult to get. I am sure Miranda will be taking over the place soon.

Ally is at U of H and starting her second semester as a Freshman. As some of you might know, she is studying acting. Her first semester she was a stage assistant for the school production. With one days notice, she was told she would be given a major role for a few of the performances. This was a role she had not been practicing for. Sally and I were lucky enough to attend, and Ally was the star of the show in our eyes. Mary and John were able to get down the following week and watch her perform.

After Scott's surgery a few years ago he had a few big scars. One of them was on his back, so he got a tattoo of a cross and Joshua 1:9 to cover the scar. Ally informed Mary over the break she got the same tattoo on her ankle in support of her dad. Miranda joined Ally and her dad by getting the same tattoo as well. John is already saying he will get it done when he is 18.

John is doing well, but has had a tough time with a shoulder injury. He is a Freshman in High School and runs cross country and dives. John injured his shoulder and had surgery in November. This has kept him out of all competition for some time. He is just beginning to be able to move the shoulder more now. This has obviously been very frustrating for him. He is fighting through it. Scot's buddy Hank, took John to a Cowboys games, and he has been surrounded with support from friends and family.

Mary, the rock of the family, is working and taking care of her children. The best I can tell she is in constant motion between her families needs and her job. I have had the chance to witness the love and support she gives her family and juggle a successful business, and I am in awe. My hope is she is taking time for herself.

I know from my many conversations with Scott that he was very proud of his family and would be even more proud of the people they are becoming. Difficult moments reveal peoples character, and in the face of incredibly difficult moments over the last 5 years the family has shown great character and courage. Scott set a great example for them and he lives on in them!!
Thanks again from myself! Mary and the kids would like to thank each of you as well.

As many of you may have heard, Scott passed away last night. As I get more information, I will pass it on. Please continue to keep Scott's family in your thoughts and prayers. Scott's wife Mary, his children, and extended family are incredibly strong people, but they will continue to need the love and support of all of you!
